Visit to Philadelphia Sept 13-16, 2024 for wedding of
Anna Sher and Josh Pompan
After we arrived and checked into the hotel, we were off to find food at the Reading Terminal Market. After some Chinese food, I had a giant ice cream cone here.
Hey, we're on vacation!
To then walk off the guilt associated with that giant ball of dairy cream and sugar, we walked around the city, here at Logan Square.
We headed further down the Ben Franklin Parkway (everything there is named Ben Franklin) to the Philadelphia Art Museum where Rocky ran up the steps.
As we walked back, I noted that when they steal a bike in Philly, they do it right....
Next am, we did more walking around the city, to see the Independence Mall, where they have Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell...
And also the Constitution Center where they had a recent presidential debate.
At one of the local museums, we saw how they would write back in the day, noting their penmanship, and wondered, if they were alive today, whether they could write so beautifully using only their thumbs
Of course, cheesesteak for lunch.
On 9/15, day of the wedding, we started with more walking around to see the city.
Then we got dressed up for the main event, which was where else...
The Franklin Institute.
Here is the happy couple, Anna and Josh, in an unconventional part of the wedding ceremony: the selfie with the Rabbi.
Here we are with my friend Don, father of the groom, before we ravaged the sushi table.
The wedding itself was in the Franklin Institute's planetarium, so they literally got married under the stars. Then the reception was in the great hall, under the dome with an 82 foot tall ceiling..
Majestic. Quite a gig.
Next am, travel home, back to everyday life.
Thanks for looking.
