Savannah, GA,  November 4-5, 2011

We went to cheer on cousin Stephanie from the San Diego area who was running the half marathon in Savannah.  What's a four hour drive between friends? (or family?)
First, we met up with Stephanie and 25 of her closest friends (the running buddies) at the Macaroni Grill.  That place was a madhouse of carb loading.
Next morning, we got up to see if we could see Stephanie run by, but with only about 20,000 runners, we weren't successful.  Plus, with the morning temperature in the low 40's and wind, we decided it was time for the continental breakfast!
After breakfast, we ventured out, me on roller skates, near the starting line of the race.  Note here that on Bay St., the main drag of the Savannah Historical District, there are no cars and no other signs of life...except for one very small runner who ran through my bow legs!  :)
Here on Liberty St., we wait for Stephanie, but instead watched the other 19,000 runners go by.  Oh well, we'll see her at the end!
Here we stop for a quick pic at the fountain in Forsyth Park, which was the finish line area for the runners.  We did eventually meet up with Stephanie, but then we had to get back to the hotel for clean up and to get Stephanie to the airport.
On the way back home, we stopped at a McDonalds where I ordered a cup of coffee.
While there, the girl behind the counter gave me good news and bad news:

The good news:

Sir, I can charge you the senior price for your coffee and you can save 30 cents.

Woo hoo!

The bad news:

Sir, I can charge you the senior price for your coffee and you can save 30 cents.

Boo hoo!

Oh, well, back to it.
